Farm Crawl
SEPTEMBER 14th & 15th— Visit Local Farms! 1pm-4pm
What is the Farm Crawl, and how does it work?
The Farm Crawl is an annual event, with all event proceeds going to benefit Food Works, a local non-profit organization facilitating the development of a regional food economy in southern Illinois.
It is an event where local farmers open up their farms to share a bit of their lives with the community. It is a great way to connect with the local growers that sustainably supply our region and work hard to make it an amazing place to live.
How to participate and what to expect: You have to purchase a car pass to participate. A car pass will give your entire carload access to regional farm tours (for the day or for the full weekend depending on the pass you choose).
Plan ahead! Itinerary & farm route: Read on each farm and plan a route that is best for the passengers in your vehicle ahead of time to make the most of your trip. It is best to allow at least an hour for each farm you want to visit.
Food/supplies: Some farms have food you can purchase on-site, but you may want to pack a cooler and bring snacks of your own to have between stops. Some of our farms are remote and only accept cash. Plan accordingly.
Rain or Shine: The Farm Crawl happens rain or shine, so be prepared!
Safety: Pets are not allowed on the tour. Keep your furry friends at home, so you can enjoy others at some of the farms instead!
